The day started out with high winds and black skies from the smoke from the Pacific Palisades fire and The Altadena fire. These areas are nowhere near us, but the smoke was blanketing all of LA. We live very close to Runyon Canyon and the Sunset / Runyon Fire started around 6pm. we got an emergency notice on our phone, but we were right at the evacuation line, so we stayed put and watched the fire from our rooftop. After a few hours and MANY helicopter water drops they were able to put the fire out thankfully. This was one of the most stressful moments I have ever had in my life. Los Angeles is in a state of emergency with several other fires still burning. Pacific Palisades and Altadena are absolutely devastated. Hollywood was very fortunate.
