An interesting exchange between myself & Rabid Right-Wing Conservative - A Lesson in Validity.

I recieved a disturbing letter in the email entittled, "Just say No to Obama's Orwellian Healthcare Plan"
After reading all of it's mis-information and lies I retitled it, "Just say Yes to Obama's Brilliant Healthcare plan!" and
sent this in repronse to all:

 

"Dear IDIOT Americans,
This originated from the Greasy Old Party & the Blue Dog Dems (they rollover for Healtcare Industry Lobbyists) who cater to the Health Care industry. If they are correct...then how did the Republicans PLUNGE us into Great Depression 2.0? I honestly wonder how ANYONE can STILL listen to these corrupt, detriments to our society after destroying our financial system for EIGHT YEARS SOLID! (1929 - Hoover(R) Furthermore, if we can SOCIALIZE FAILED, CORRUPT Banks, and SOCIALIZE The FAILED Auto industry, WHY Can't we socialize healthcare for Families and children? If you watch TMZ (aka The MORON Zone), then you probably have the mentality to talk yourselves out of healthcare. The only expense would come from the upper 1%-BILLIONAIRES who are scared shitless of paying their taxes...and who started this fascist propaganda. How do we prevent government run healthcare from cutting into the skyrocketing Health care profits? Easy. The same way they conned you into IRAQ! SCARE YOU AND LIE TO YOU!
Do yourself a favor...Turn off the TV, get some exercise, READ MORE & Don't believe the bullshit!

Actually, he was absolutely right! Anyone who has taken basic logic courses can see that when I reduce myself to nam-ecalling or juvinile stunts like this, I INVALIDATE my argument as well as turn off my audience. My point is lost and my udience disappointed. I was however referring tho that grammy-award winning CD by GreenDay entittled "Idiot Americans" that also referred to the intelectually defying move of RE-INSTALLING George Dubya Bush into the Whitehouse...AGAIN. I apologized politely and refocused:

I considered that. However the title only applies to those who would be foolish enough to install an idiot into the white house for 8 years. Let's also not change the subject...Healthcare for families & children. YOUR families. YOUR Children. YOUR taxpayer dollars.
If my subtle hyperbole vs the Lunatic' Fringe Right's DEMONIZING of our ELECTED President ("A terrorist") distracts from the issue, I apologize. But lets keep our focus: An American family is ONE disease/accident away from complete financial ruin without healthcare...private, socialized or otherwise. I'd be happy to replace the word "idiots" for SUCKERS since either will work in this instance.

If he bothered to do his homework Bill Perron would find, according to the CDC, the numbers of Americans infected with HIV are only :56,000 a year compared to the estimated 2 million children with respiratory diseases thanks to BIG OIL. But facts and figures wouldn't interest him if he can't use homophobia as a premise to defend his very weak argument.

It is here Perron's argument runs out of steam as the tables are tunred and he reduces himself to sarcasm, name-calling and simple frustration. I can feel his skin crawl and his reasoning melts away, but I want to validate my point further by answering more of his questions so I add:

That's because it makes sense. As far as stockholders and investors go, my advice would be to invest in companies like SOLAR, WIND & ELECTRIC CAR technologies that don't kill people and perserve our planet.
I've answered all of your questions down to the dollar. Your lack of focus on the issue of healthcare for Americans and defending OIL, Tobacco, alcohol and WEAPONS is kinda lopsided.
The rest of us (99%) are inclined to disagree with you.

This is where his entire argument comes tumbling down and he knows it. He changes the subject from Healthcare for families to "tax fairnes" and the usual Rush Limbaugh rant you hear 24/7 on conservative radO and TV. He reasoning and calm all gone becoming more & more rabid:

You really see the world strangely, you never answered one of my questions, yet you arrogantly say you did, you made ridiculous statements that you couldn't back up intelligently, you totally ignored the issue of fairness in taxation, as well as the personal responsibility issue, and you see high taxes as the cure all to every ill America has. Notice how he CANNOT distinguish between a HUGE ECONOMIC MEGALITHS like oil, alcohol, tobacco & weapons and himself? Notice how when Corporate monopolies are threatened in ANY way, the subject changes to the "common man" or" small business"."Threaten them and you threaten me". Conservative propagange has MIS-INFORMED this poor individual SO MUCH they defend MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR monsters who hide behind whats left of the middle class.

I could feel him fluster when the facts reveal that BIG OIL, Alcohol, Tobacco & weapons could ACTUALLY ease the burden of American families. I suddenly imagine an older man wearing a diaper sitting on the floor clutching dollar bills as we spoke. I didn't bother answering more of his letters as they wouldjust contain more rants. As far as "smarmy" goes, I feel I have listened to as well respectfully responded to Mr. Perron's questions.

We see here, class, that EDUCATION, RESEARCH and plain LOGIC can defeat MIS-INFORMATION, PROPAGANDA and PREJUDICE all in one mighty SWOOP!
